Since all of this translates into higher traffic, and in turn potentially more sales, opt-ins etc, article marketing has become a highly successful area of Internet marketing, don't just take our word for it, any IM forums will have 1,000s of posts about article marketing, what it does, how it works etc, bear in mind the following:

What Type of content should I use in my article marketing?
The biggest & most successful area is the 'How to' 'solving problems' kind of articles, these are always in demand. Think about it this way, most surfers use the Internet to find information, in many instances to learn 'how to' overcome something, a solution to etc, so it makes sense to deliver solutions - don't get hung up on this, check out forums in your niche and you'll soon discover what people are searching for.

What Are The Keys to Writing Success?
There is an approach, which has been tried, tested over many, many years known as AIDA which helps an article (or any writing for that matter, advertisement etc) achieve the success needed to keep the reader's attention and result in the required action.

AIDA stands for - A represents attention, I is interest, D is for desire and A is for action. Any article should attract attention especially the title and description. Interest would then be gradually created to a point of desire. Finally, the article should provoke action to be taken. Action could be in form of visiting a website, email opt-in or clicking on a link to buy a product as an example.

Researching your Subject Successfully
Successful article marketing requires accurate research , you can easily research a niche by reading a variety of articles both on and offline, books and other literature, and another great place is to check out forums and blogs in your chosen niche - they are a very rich vein of information. Likewise make sure you have done your keyword research as well, more on that later.

Building Trust Through Your Writing
Many Internet marketers find writing articles difficult and end up stumbling and concluding its not for them especially if you do not have a huge knowledge about the niche you are writing about, for this reason and to make your article writing experience easier, it is better to start out in areas that you are comfortable with and have some knowledge of.

If you can properly target keywords within the title and body of your article, then you will increase the chances of being successful with your article marketing campaigns.

Your choice of keywords need to be those that your target audience are using to search for information in Google and the other search engines, by doing this there's real chance your article will rank well for those keywords and your target visitor will then hopefully visit your site.

Keywords are the words website users are likely to type into search engines when looking for a specific topic. To make the best out of your article marketing efforts you must start with keyword research.

Identify what your visitors are searching for and what terms they are using to find it then look at the number of searches within a given period say a month. The reason for this is to estimate the amount of traffic that keyword or phrase generates monthly. A keyword with high traffic can mean more traffic potential and vice versa. When the keyword you are interested in has a low search numbers it therefore follows it has lower competition levels (i.e. fewer competing websites), you have an even better chance to easily rank higher on search engines but possibly less potential visitors.

Well there are several other forms of website promotion such as pay-per-click (PPC), forum posts and blog commenting, but article marketing has proven to be highly effective when done properly. This is because an article that is rated "high quality" will be used over and over again in different websites on the Internet. All these link back to your website - how cool is that? Yep now possibly you can see why Sam & I bang on about the power of article marketing, No it's not the best but its a very important tool in your Internet marketing strategy box and one that has undoubtedly stood the test of time.
